Our Old Fire and Police Station
Gotham Newcastle is located in the Old Fire Station which was originally built in 1931–1933 based on designs by Cackett, Burns, Dick and Mackellar. Baroque Revival in style, a handsome steel framed building with rusticated Portland stone and brick cladding.
The Fire Station side of Hotel Gotham Newcastle, opening October 2025, will offer 60 thoughtfully designed bedrooms for a luxurious and unique stay. Enjoy our restaurant and bar, featuring a DJ booth, where modern style meets historical charm.
The Police Station side of the hotel will open early 2026, with 30 carefully curated bedrooms. The event space in the historic Court Rooms, will be perfect for gatherings of up to 120 guests. Hotel Gotham Newcastle is all about redefining hospitality, blending history with contemporary elegance in The Old Fire Station’s iconic setting.
Behind the Scenes
Hotel Gotham naturally draws attention to itself. Gotham was always going to be unpredictable and make a statement. It was always going to be a unique experience, a spectacular destination, with a taste for the theatrical. This is why we wanted to bring it to the Newcastle Stage. At Gotham, we believe that luxury is as important as location and history. We believe style should complement substance, and we are not too taken by the idea of compromise.
