Welcome to Windermere Hotel

If you’re looking for Lake Windermere hotels that are ideal venues for weddings and other functions, the Windermere Hotel is one of the best choices around. The grand, English heritage-listed Windermere Hotel dates back to 1847 and is perfectly located on the edge of the village in an elevated position a few hundred metres back from the Lake. The Hotel is perfectly located for exploring, walking, boating or just browsing the shops, cafés and museums of local towns such as Bowness or Kendal.

The Windermere Hotel has 75 rooms including standard single, twin, double, and family rooms. If you’re looking for something special then ask about rooms with scenic views. The rooms are luxuriously appointed and well equipped to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible.

The Orrest Head Lodge is part of the hotel and offers a range of modern dishes including pasta and pizza at good prices. Relax with a good meal and perhaps a drink in the evening while you take in the wonderful view across the lake.

Dogs are also welcome in selected rooms, so feel free to bring your four-legged friend if you want to take them on adventures around the lake.

Discover Windermere and The Lake District

Lake Windermere, located in the heart of the Lake District, is the largest naturally formed lake in England. The lake offers beautiful views and you can go for a gentle stroll while appreciating the serenity, or just sit and relax by the water’s edge. The lake is also a popular destination for people who want to enjoy fishing and boating, and relaxing lake cruises make for a magical way to explore the wonders of the lake.

Lake Windermere is also a popular destination for birdwatchers and people who hope to get a glimpse of some of the other wildlife in the area. Hikers, ramblers, and climbers nearby mountain peaks allow for some truly stunning views for anybody adventurous enough to climb them.
