Haldon Forest is an incredible 3,500-acre woodland located in Haldon Hills, South Devon.
The forest is thought to be millions of years old, with 360-million-year-old rocks discovered in Haldon Hills.
The forest is home to a host of exciting activities and is the perfect place for families to enjoy an adventurous day out.
There are plenty of off-road running routes for you to enjoy when you visit Haldon Forest, ranging from 1km to 5km, depending on your ability.
The stunning views and breathtakingly tall trees will provide you with an incredible backdrop for your day on the trails.
If you have younger visitors with you, you might prefer to take a slow walk around the forest, following the ‘Superworm’ trail.
The popular character from the Julia Donaldson story, ‘Superworm’, has set up camp in the forest, leading an hour-long adventure of discovery between the brambles and bushes.
There are illustrated panels along the route, and children will be given an activity pack to complete along the way – which includes their very own mask.
Why not explore Haldon Forest from up above? Go Ape offers exceptional treetop views of the forest, and will certainly test your nerves as you embark on an aerial adventure.
Attached to a harness, Go Ape is a safe yet exhilarating experience. If you’d prefer to stay close to the ground, why not test your balance on a Segway adventure instead?
There are also cycling and mountain biking trails, with an on-site bike hire centre offering a variety of bikes, safety gear and children’s seats.
