Lake District

Heaven on earth for those seeking a space to relax and recharge. Populated with lakes, forests, fells and romanticised by famous authors who have been based here over the years. Decorated by quaint market towns as well as traditional inns and galleries. The Lake District is the perfect place for a dreamy getaway.

Activities

There are so many activities, trails and experiences to participate in. The favourite five based on reviews are;

Helvellyn

England’s 3rd highest mountain. A great walk with some steep parts. The reward being the amazing views at the top!

Catbells Lakeland Walk

A popular hiking trail that walkers say need proper walking shoes and a windbreaker. A great place to take a picnic to enjoy looking over the landscape.

Lake Windermere

Over 10 miles in length, England’s largest lake offers more than a beautiful view. There are so many activities to enjoy on the lake, from cruises, fishing, boating, sailing, paddle boarding and more!

Aira Force Waterfall

This historic waterfall is 65-feet and a favourite attraction in the area. The walk itself takes between 2 – 3 hours but you can make a whole day of it if you strat in Glenridding and arrive by boat.

Loughrigg Fell

This is a lovely circular route from Ambleside that takes in some stunning views. Walkers say it’s a great walk with some steep parts but a wonderful way to get panoramic views of the lake.

East Ruston Old Vicarage Garden

This hidden gem is a parallel universe to the local landscape. Multiple gardens including a walled garden, rose garden, woodland garden, Mediterranean garden and a desert make up this exceptional pocket of natural beauty.

City of Norwich Aviation Museum

Home to Norfolk’s Aviation Heritage for over 40 years. Wander through the outdoor space housing nearly 30 aircraft, cockpit sections and exhibits. Inside you will see the small displays such as the collections of Royal Airforce 100 and United States Army 8th Air Force. Don’t forget to leave time for a stop over in the tea room!

Winbirri Vineyards

25 acres of award winning vineyards nestled in the Norfolk countryside. This family run state of the art winery produces wine on site from its very own grapes. Spend a day touring the vineyard before taking part in a wine tasting sat outside taking in the ambience. Order a charcuterie board to make it extra special!
