Eastbourne Redoubt
History fans will love an afternoon at Eastbourne Redoubt, the circular defence fort in the heart of Eastbourne.
The fortress was constructed in 1805 to protect the town and its surrounding areas from the threat of invasion during the Napoleonic Wars.

Treasure Island Eastbourne
The young and the young at heart will love Treasure Island, Eastbourne’s pirate-themed adventure park. There are all kinds of outdoor and indoor amusements to enjoy here, from the Buccaneers indoor adventure to pirates adventure golf.

Princes Park
Princes Park is the perfect destination for spring and summer days. The Eastbourne favourite is well known amongst locals, and we highly recommend taking a trip here if you have young children to entertain.
At Princes Park you’ll find a children’s playground, a boating lake, informal gardens and a beautiful scented rose garden. There’s also a cafe where you can buy all kinds of refreshments to enjoy as you wander the gardens.
Eastbourne Miniature Steam Railway
If you’re visiting Eastbourne during the summer, don’t miss the Miniature Steam Railway.
The railway opens in April each year, and takes visitors on a mile-long trip around a stunning country park. All locomotives at the miniature railway are built to one-eighth scale, making them perfect for young train enthusiasts!
Eastbourne Miniature Steam Railway also has a maze and an adventure playground, along with a smaller play area specifically for under fives. Adults will love the railway-themed cafe, where you can grab a delicious cream tea.
Pevensey Castle
Just a stone’s throw from the heart of Eastbourne, Pevensey Castle is well worth a visit. The historic ruin is now an English Heritage site, and there’s plenty to explore here.
Pevensey Castle dates back to the 4th century. It’s an example of one of the few remaining Roman ‘Saxon Shore’ forts. The castle was also used during the Second World War as a stronghold. Evidence of this era can still be seen in the machine gun posts dotted along the castle’s walls.

Towner Eastbourne
In 2020, Towner Eastbourne was named Art Fund’s Museum of the Year. The contemporary art gallery offers something completely different, with a wide range of exhibitions and events taking place throughout the year.
