Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway 150 Metres

This famous funicular cliff railway is the highest and steepest completely water-powered railway in the world. Opened in 1890, the historic cliff railway connects the twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth and provides spectacular coastal views. Above the lower station at 500 feet is the grade II listed Cliff Top Cafe, which will provide you with tea and coffee whilst you take in one of the best views you’ll ever see.

Lynton Cinema 200 Metres

Listed as one of the top 50 independents in the country, this luxurious cinema is in a grade II listed former Methodist Chapel. Now with full Dolby Digital sound, the 70-seat cinema shows a mix of blockbusters and classics.

Lymouth Boat Trips 0.5 Mile

Departing regularly from the Lynmouth Quay, a wonderful opportunity to see the hidden coves along the coast of Exmoor.

Valley of Rocks 1.4 Miles

One of Devon’s must-sees. A spectacular valley a few minutes’ walk from the Hotel, with breath-taking views across the ocean to South Wales and for a very rare breed of goats. You can experience this natural treasure – part of the South West Coastal Path – in many ways: on foot, on a bike or even by car driving along the coast.

National Trust Watersmeet 2.4 Miles

A simply beautiful walk through the woodland surrounding Lynton and Lynmouth, along the river path and ending up at Watersmeet and this National Trust property with garden and café.

Lynton and Barnstaple Railway 4 Miles

Board the traditional train at Woody Bay Stations and take a journey back in time with this wonderful and unique two-mile experience through spectacular countryside.
