With a fantastic clifftop location close to the wonderful seaside towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, the Valley of Rocks Hotel is perfect for a cosy, romantic getaway or a family beach or walking holiday. All of the 68 comfortable bedrooms feature en suite bathrooms, tea and coffee-making facilities and other amenities. In the holiday seasons there is live entertainment in the bar and lounge.
The imposing Grade II listed building is within the Exmoor National Park, one of England’s most picturesque locations, and a haven for walking, cycling and horse-riding. The South West Coastal Path runs through Lynton itself and past the Valley of Rocks Hotel, so if you are walking the path, this is a perfect stopping off point.
You can get down to the seaside and Lynmouth harbour via the lovely Cliff Railway funicular, built in 1890. The whole area has cosy pubs, tearooms, excellent restaurants and some of the most spectacular views in England. The gorge walk to the National Trust house at Watersmeet is an absolute treat, as is the walk up the Lighthouse Keepers Cottage on Countisbury Hill. The Valley of Rocks is another attraction in its own right – a dry valley that runs parallel to the Devon coast appealing to walkers and geologists.
