Head to the centre to find out about the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park near the Five Arches, a fortress-like section of Tenby’s medieval walls.
Tenby Harbour and Beach 400 Metres
A buzzing harbour at the centre of town: go fishing; take a boat trip to Caldey Island, or just relax with some fish and chips, before or after a glorious day swimming and building sand-castles on the sandy beach.
Tenby Castle 500 Metres
A small tower is all that remains of the castle, but the views from Castle Hill remain unmatched – a lovely thing to do on your first day in Tenby – walk up and survey the town, the sea, the clifftops and the beaches and nearby St Catherine’s Island – a fortress which can be reached by foot at low tide.

Pembrokeshire Coast Path 0.5 mile to start of path
There are wonderful routes out of Tenby to the north and south on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. A 4.5 miles walk takes you to Saundersfoot and incredible views of the Bay from the Monkstone Point headland.

Caldey Island, boat trip from Tenby Harbour 500 Metres
A 20 minute boat trip takes you to the holy island of Caldey – an oasis of calm that is owned and run by a community of Cistercian monks. The boat drops you off on Priory Beach, a beautiful place for a swim.
Horse-riding on the beach 23 Miles
The huge beach at Druidston Haven (23 miles) is the perfect place for one of life’s most enviable experiences. Nolton Stables (23 miles) run trips to suit all abilities.
Coasteering, office on Tenby Harbour 300 Metres
Coasteering – a blend of shore-scrambling, swell-riding, nature-watching and cliff-jumping – was invented in Pembrokeshire, so where better to try it out.
Watersports 500 metres to closest centre
Try out jet-skiing, paddleboarding, rib rides or kayaking from the North Beach. Or head for Newgale (26 miles) is a vast shingle-backed beach at the top of St Brides Bay, where Big Blue run the full array of watersports hire and tuition – surfing, kite surfing, stand up paddleboarding.
Skomer Island 27 Miles
Skomer and Skokholm, off St Brides Bay, make up one of the world’s most important sea-bird sites To get up close to the seals, dolphins, porpoises and basking sharks take, a boat trip from Martin’s Haven especially during puffin season (May to July).
