The Glenburn Hotel is ideally situated to explore the many attractions on the Isle of Bute.<\/p>\n

The island is a wonderful place to explore, with several sandy beaches and a variety of sporting activities, from sailing and kayaking to horse-riding and cycling. Boasting 3 golf courses, the 9-hole Bute course, the 13-hole Port Bannatyne and the 18-hole Rothesay Golf Club. The stunning Mount Stuart House is a must see for any visitor to the island. Built by the Marquis of Bute, it is a stunning Gothic Mansion full of priceless artworks and an incredible Marble Chapel. Rothesay Castle tells the story of Medieval times, being the summer residence of Robert the Bruce who was King of Scots during the 14th century. In the town centre the museum is home to many artifacts dating back to the times when the Vikings raided the shores of the island. More history is found at the Vitrified fort at Dunagoil, and the atmosphere at the ruins of the St Blanes Chapel will leave the hairs on the back of your neck standing.<\/p>\n

During the summer months the open Top Bus is a great way to get round the island and pick up some information at the same time. Look out for the Ospreys, Buzzards, Golden Eagles, and many other varieties of bird. When on the coast the Grey Seals are never far off the beaches and rocks, and with Otters, Porpoises, Dolphins and Whales, which are regularly seen around the islands shores, Bute truly is a wildlife enthusiasts paradise.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
